How to use Alcatel-Lucent Rainbow

USER ACCOUNT CREATION AND MANAGEMENT

Go to the registration page and enter your business email address. We will send you a confirmation email to validate your email address. If you don’t receive our mail, please check your spam folder.

Then follow the wizard and you’re all set ! You can enjoy the Rainbow experience with your business community!

If you need to reset your password, go to the login page and click on “Forgot your password? ”. If you don’t receive the reset password email, please check your spam folder.
When you want to add a contact to your contact list, type your contact’s name in the search bar at the top. Once you have found the contact, you just have to click on the button “Add contact to my list” located near the contact name.

If you don’t find your contact in the search, then your contact is not a Rainbow user yet and you must invite him/her to Rainbow. See “How do I invite a person on Rainbow”.

Inviting your team or business community to Rainbow allows you to be connected with them permanently even if you are on the road or on a business trip. Wherever you are, exchanging about a customer case or sharing knowledge on a project becomes simple.

Two options are available:

From your desktop app: just click on the “invite” button at the bottom left of your screen and enter your new contact’s email address (i.e. your suppliers, partners or colleagues). He/she will receive a welcome notification automatically.

From your mobile app: Go in “Contacts” tab, then select “All” tab at the top of the screen. You will see all the contacts embedded on your mobile. For those who are not Rainbow users yet, you can see an invite option near the contact name. Click to invite and an email will be sent to your contact.

CORPORATE CHAT FOR BUSINESS NETWORKING

Instant conversations at work allows to speed up exchanges and knowledge sharing between you, your team and/or your business network . Either with a Supplier or a Customer, you can use instant messaging in your daily business to deal with urgent cases very quickly. Your communications become more efficient as you reach the most appropriate contact in few seconds. Thanks to the presence and message status, you know instantly who’s available and if your message has been seen.

To start a discussion, go in the conversation panel of Rainbow, select the contact on your list and type your message directly on the text zone at the bottom of the screen. You can engage with one or several contacts by creating a group.

Today, it is difficult to communicate and interact with your business community only by emails or long meetings that are time and space consuming. As an example, a Harvard Business Review report found that 67% of meetings are considered unproductive by executives and they take up roughly 15% of every institutions time.**

Therefore video communications are one of the best alternative to collaborate efficiently with your team or business networking.

Make a video or audio call is as simple as a click. Go in the conversation panel of Rainbow, select the user you want to reach and click the call button located near the contact name. Select if you want to launch a video or audio call and click to start. Calls are only possible with contacts who are in your contact list. If you want to reach a person who is not in your list, you should add him/her first before launching your call.

Please note that if your contact is connected with a mobile client, call features are not available. And if the contact is not connected to Rainbow, call features are also unavailable. Only “online” contacts are reachable.

Sharing information instantly with your team, partners or suppliers, allows to exchange valuable knowledge/information for immediate actions. During your conversation you can directly share essential data with a member of your team in another country or with a customer few miles away from you.

New communications tools allow to remove borders and you can communicate with anyone as simply as he/she was in your office.

From the conversation panel, if you want to share a file you simply have to click on the attach button located near the contact’s name. Browse and select the document you want to share in your conversation then validate to send the file. The recipient needs to accept the transfer to retrieve the file.

File sharing is possible only with contacts who are in your contact list. If you want to share a file with a person who is not in your list, you should add him/her first before.

Please note that if your contact is connected with a mobile client, the file sharing is not available. And if the contact is not connected to Rainbow, file sharing is also unavailable. This feature is available only when contacts are “online”.

If you want to find out what Rainbow version you’re using, just click on your avatar then “About Rainbow” in the menu. You will find your current Rainbow version and you can also save your logs. This may be useful from time to time for our support team to understand issues your facing.
